APC PowerChute Network Shutdown for Virtualization and HCI, 6-Year Subscription

Customers with PowerChute v5.0 will require a license for certain features:
• HCI and virtualization support is only available with PowerChute licensing which includes:
– Full integration with leading HCI platforms
– Unattended start-up
– Automated workload migrations
Licensing is per node; for example, a 4-node Virtualization cluster requires 4 PowerChute licenses.
Impact:
• No impact to existing customers as their current version will continue to work
• Customers will need to purchase a license for future upgrades
• Graceful shutdown for Windows and Linux will remain available without a license

HCI and virtualization support is only available with PowerChute license.
Examples:
1. HPE SimpliVity cluster with 2 compute nodes requires 2 licenses.
2. Nutanix AHV cluster of 3 hosts, with PowerChute installed on a Windows machine outside the cluster, requires 3 licenses (corresponding to the number of hosts). No license is required for the Windows machine where PowerChute is installed.
3. vSAN/VxRail Stretch cluster with 4 hosts in total – 2 vSAN Nodes, 1 Management Node and 1 Witness Node, requires 3 licenses corresponding to the vSAN & management nodes that are compute nodes – the Witness Host/Node is not a compute node running VMs and does not require a license.
4. No license is required in case of standalone ESXi host not managed by vCenter
